About Us
Mid Kentucky Bass Anglers is located in central Kentucky with most members from the Lebanon, Marion County area and surrounding counties and communities. Other members come from Louisville, Lexington, and Richmond. The club's roots date back to a single tournament held on Fagan Branch Lake (Lebanon City Reservior) in September 1996. At that time, 8 anglers in four small boats took to the lake for a day of fun and competition. From that event, grew a similar competition the following year. Over time, the number of tournaments grew to 6 in 2000 and now to 12 tournaments in 2006.
The club initially scheduled all tournaments on several small lakes in central Kentucky including, Fagan Branch, Sportsman Lake, Willisburg Lake, Spurlington Lake, and Salem Lake. As the club membership increased and the boats grew in size, the tournaments have been slowly moving off the smaller lakes to many of Kentucky's large public lakes.
In 2006, the club affiliated with BASS Federation Nation. Two six man teams were put together and competed against other clubs from around the state. Both teams from Mid Kentucky Bass Anglers qualified for the Regional tournament on J. Percy Priest Lake near Nashville, Tennessee held April 18th through April 21st, 2007.
The club continues to grow and plans a full schedule for 2007.
